OLD SAN JUAN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Sofía & Brian’s Charming Old Town Wedding
The best decision we made by far when planning our wedding was hiring Michael Maurer to be the photographer! We really wanted our pictures to have a more natural feel and Michael completely understood our vision from the beginning. He's such a kind person and was always so professional and easy to work with while ensuring everyone felt comfortable every step of the way.
Within a few weeks he delivered over 650 pictures and we can honestly say that each and every shot is absolutely beautiful and frame-worthy. His way of working is perfectly balanced between the "must-do" family pictures and the documentary-style more creative images that truly capture the moment and the spirit of the evening.
We feel incredibly fortunate to have had Michael as our photographer. He's simply the best of the best!”
Weddings in Puerto Rico are always such a treat, and even more when they’re in Old San Juan, the island’s colonial old town built by the Spanish when they invaded in the 1500s. Its cobblestone streets and wonderful, colourful architecture mean it’s an absolutely stunning place to get married in.
Sofía & Brian decided to have their ceremony at La Rogativa, an open plaza overlooking the ocean and the governor’s residence. After the ceremony, an ensemble of pleneros (Puerto Rican musicians) escorted them and all their guests up the street to Hotel El Convento (called that way because it used to be a convent!) for the rest of the wedding celebrations.
It was really special, because it was at this venue where I photographed one of my first weddings in 2014.
I’m thrilled that Sofia & Brían chose me to photograph their wedding.
