The Wedding Highlights of 2022
The Wedding Highlights of 2022
Each year I spend some time going back through every photo I delivered and I pick my favourites. To me, these are the photos which highlight what weddings are about. They’re the ones in which I feel I was best able to capture the spontaneous love, joy and emotion that makes my job so special. They’re also the ones that highlight my approach the best - candid, unobtrusive and discreet.
The thing I love the most about being a wedding photographer is all the people I get to meet. It’s a real privilege to be let into such a personal space, for one day (or two), to capture the stories and relationships that have been developing for decades. When I meet with a couple for the first time, I always tell them that I’ll never walk into a room and command the energy of the moment. There’s no need for me to pose anything on the wedding day - it’s all there, on display, waiting to be captured.
2022 was a tremendous year and there’s so much I’m grateful for. I had the privilege of photographing 23 fantastic weddings, two of which where in Puerto Rico and allowed me to spend some treasured time with family. I returned to some of my favourite wedding venues (like Syon Park) and was able to discover some gorgeous new ones (like Walcott Hall). I was even a guest at a wedding… without my cameras! And after two years in South Korea, we permanently returned to London.
Thank you to all the couples that trusted me to capture their weddings this year. It was a real privilege. Thank you also to all the wonderful venues and suppliers I was able to work with. And to all my couples for 2023 and beyond - I can’t wait to photograph your day.
Without further ado, here they are:
